THE CONCEPT
We invite you to step beyond the cup and immerse yourself in the harmony of taste and sound. The Prelude Tea Experience is a unique performance tasting led by our founder and composer, Austin Nash Park. We pair our single-origin Japanese teas with live, original piano compositions written specifically to complement the flavor notes of each brew. It is not just a tasting; it is a moment of connection where the senses of taste, smell, and hearing converge to tell the story of the tea.
1. The Listening Session (Audio Experience)
An immersive tasting journey, perfect for intimate gatherings or focused appreciation.
We guide you through a flight of 5 single-origin teas, moving from light and floral to deep and complex. As each tea is served, its corresponding composition is played through a high-fidelity sound system. This is a moment to close your eyes and let the music reveal the hidden moods of the tea—experiencing how a Wakocha dances with a romantic waltz, or how a roasted Hojicha settles into a warm, melodic embrace.
Format: 5-course tasting menu with recorded pairings.

2. The Composer’s Table (Live Performance)
Our signature experience for private events, VIP receptions, and special occasions.
Founder and pianist Austin Nash Park performs the 5-course pairing live. The experience transforms into a private concert where the music is not just background, but a dialogue with the tea service. Austin introduces each course, explaining the inspiration behind the tea sourcing and the composition, before performing the piece live as you taste. It is a dynamic performance that turns a tea tasting into a memorable artistic event.
